United Way of Central Oregon

Since 1953, United Way of Central Oregon has been strengthening communities in Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson Counties, as well as the lands of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, and investing locally in our community’s most needed programs and services while simultaneously strengthening our community.

Impact areas

At United Way of Central Oregon, we fight for the health, education, financial stability, and resilience of every person in our Central Oregon community. As we continue to focus on health, education, and financial stability, we are also working upstream to tackle childhood trauma – the root cause of many challenges currently faced by so many in our community – and to build resilience in individuals, families, and communities.

Resilience

Achieving Positive Outcomes Despite Adversity

We envision a region where individuals, families and our community are resilient. Through our TRACEs initiative we are increasing awareness and decreasing impacts of childhood trauma through cultivating resilience. Learn more about TRACEs.

Financial Stability

Empowering Independence & Financial Stability

We envision a region where individuals and families can meet life’s basic needs (food, shelter, clothing) and gain economic stability through education, job training, reliable housing, and employment.

Promoting Mental & Physical Wellbeing

We envision a region where all people are safe, have access to nutritious food, affordable healthcare, and the opportunity to maximize their physical, mental, and emotional health, and lead independent, productive lives.

Promoting Lifelong Learning

We work to ensure children enter school ready to succeed, children and youth achieve academic goals, and children and youth are emotionally healthy and socially competent.
